Steve attended DTS from 1974 to 1979. He graduated with a Masters of Theology degree, majoring in Old Testament and Hebrew.

By 1985, Steve was putting investment partnerships together and buying large apartment complexes with deferred repairs in need of a remodel. Steve became well-known as a “turnaround specialist” because he had the management expertise plus the construction knowledge and ability to manage a renovation on time and at a reasonable cost.

As a junior on the basketball team, Andrew Baxter was aware that he was not going to play much so he resolved that he wanted to be the best teammate on the basketball bench. He encouraged the entire bench to fully support the players and be cheerleaders for them. He encouraged all the bench to "go crazy" for the players on the court. It made a big difference in the basketball team and most likely contributed to the fact that the team made it to the playoffs for the first time in a long time.

Brennan Baxter, Andrew Baxter’s brother, was also a successful basketball player. Steve enjoyed Brennan’s success equally well and has had many enjoyable times watching both of his sons’ successes both on and off the Pearce High School basketball court.

For Andrew Baxter of Dallas, high school basketball was just the start. He was looking forward to the challenges of the university. He now attends Texas Tech with his brother Brennan.
